Atmospheric discharge tests with current continuity

Introduction

The Atmospheric discharge tests with current continuity are performed in the High Current Laboratory (AP1), located in the Adrianópolis Unit. They aim at verifying the behavior of low and high voltage equipment when subjected to atmospheric discharge simulation to improve its performance and the security of the electric system.

They are suitable for lightning arresters, and are prepared to test Optical Ground Wires (OPGW).

The main clients of these tests are: electricity utilities and equipment manufacturers.
